2010 4/3 INFANTRY VIETNAM VETERANS REUNION FACT SHEET

Text Box: After 40 plus years, the 4th Battalion, 3rd U.S. Infantry Vietnam Veterans will be holding a first ever battalion wide reunion the same weekend as both the 3rd Infantry Regiment’s and The Old Guard Association’s(TOGA) annual reunion. This is a big weekend with lots to do and we have been invited to participate fully. Naturally, the main reason for us to be in DC will be our own ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial on Saturday October 2, 2010. Even though this is not one of their regularly scheduled events, both the Regiment and TOGA have reached out with their support to help us make this ceremony truly a memorable one. As of this writing we know that the 3rd Infantry will be providing both a color guard and bugler along with bus transportation to and from the Sheraton National to the Vietnam Memorial. We will refine the details of the itinerary as we go forth but for now this is a pretty good outline of how it will be. For most of us this will be a once in a lifetime gathering so book early.

Rich Raitano, John Gonzalez  and others are working hard to make this event special for all who attend. Here are some of the plans being developed.

Rich, if you can get this to him that would be great.
Mike O'Connor and I were talking last week about the program at the Wall. We're going to do an actual program. I know we have three ministers in D Company alone. Just checking on how many will be there at the reunion  and if they want to take part in the program.
We will have a reading of the names of all the KIA's of the 4/3. Hopefully we will have guys from each company to read it's own company's KIA's. And John Gonzalez has arranged an honor guard from Ft. Myer from the Old Guard. So we will have the real deal for a honor guard. Which I think will be so grand to see a unit from the 3rd Inf. I know John is working on other things. But I'm waiting to see them on paper or an email before I let that out. John been working pretty hard on this reunion.
I'm really looking forward to the reunion. I never got to go the last time you guys were there several years ago.
take care
Dan
